By securing new jurisdiction, we open doors to greater work opportunities for our members, ensuring that every worker has access to the safety and competitive wages they deserve. New work with employers such as ENCORE Rigging, Silverback Productions, Junto Entertainment, United Farm Workers, Meerkat Lighting, Unlimited Productions, Ethos, Freeman AV, Levitt Pavilion, 365 ProEvents, Wallis Annenberg, Strictly Effects, Imaginenation TVC LLC, and more.

As Business Representative, Ronnie Valentine has worked beyond the ordinary schedule to organize new work, defend hard-earned rights, build powerful relationships, and keep members earning through challenging times. This campaign is about continuing that progress with experience, credibility, and relationships that have been earned over years of service.

Standing Up for Members

When members’ rights were challenged, Ronnie showed up. He protested at Post 43 to stand up for projectionists and make sure employers understood that Local 33 members deserve respect, fairness, and protection on the job.

Through strategic advocacy and a commitment to competitive wages with benefits, Ron has secured a legacy of structural leadership. He continues to lead with integrity, ensuring that the voices of the workforce are heard and protected at every level of the industry.

Political Power for Working People

Ronnie understands that political power can protect work, create jobs, and improve conditions for members and their families.

Helped move Long Beach Amphitheater conversations forward through political relationships.
Spoke at the Capital to push safety with AB1775 strengthening the unions opportunities for employment
Supported the push for expansion of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Advocated to help get the San Pedro amphitheater project back on track.
Pushed City Hall for reasonable rent-increase restrictions to protect working families from excessive hikes.
Serves on the California IATSE Council, fighting for rights and better conditions at the state level.
Helped support LA County Parks After Dark work that provides members with summer income.

Why Ronnie

Ronnie has served this membership with dedication, not as a nine-to-five representative, but as someone willing to give nights, weekends, and family time to the work. Like many members, he understands the responsibility of family, children, and grandchildren, and he brings that lived experience to the job every day.

Relationships are not automatic. They are earned. Ronnie has built momentum for Local 33 through trust, persistence, and follow-through. Replacing that experience now would slow progress at the very moment the Local should be building on it.

He helped lead the successful campaign that opened the future for Local 33 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, while continuing to listen to members and act on their concerns, including support for 401(k) audits as a Trustee.

Service Beyond the Job Title

During COVID, Ronnie helped support health relief efforts that allowed members to keep healthcare and reduce fees when withdrawing money from 401(k) accounts to keep bills paid.
